CCTV camera market development trend
China’s surveillance camera market is transitioning from analog to digital.
From 2004 to 2007, the proportion of CCTV camera in the overall market scale increased from 35.7% to 54.4%, becoming the main surveillance method in the video surveillance field today. At the same time, the analog surveillance market shrank sharply, with its share dropping from 56.9% in 2004 to 19.7% in 2007. In addition, video surveillance systems have gradually entered the IP era, and the rise of network surveillance cameras cannot be ignored. Its proportion has increased from 7.4% in 2004 to 25.9%, which has become a new point of increase. 2011 is the year of promotion of high-definition surveillance cameras. Security video surveillance products will enter the high-definition stage after several development stages of analog, digital, and network. In particular, mainstream manufacturers have spared no effort to promote high-definition in the past two years. Network surveillance still occupies the mainstream of the development trend. It is foreseeable that with the deepening of promotion, high-definition surveillance cameras will be the next hot spot in the industry.
The rapid development of the video surveillance industry has benefited from the government’s “Safe City” project and the “3111” project being widely carried out nationwide. And the huge business opportunities brought by the construction of major projects such as the Beijing Olympics and the Shanghai World Expo. On the whole, the video surveillance industry is showing a development trend of “six modernizations”, which refers to digitalization, networking, high-definition, integration, IT, and intelligence.
